All cheeks

I photographed Asher and Marley for the first time this past Christmas and fell in love with Miss Marley. I babysit for them occasionally and it is so much fun to make her smile. She has to be one of the most easygoing babies I've met. I helped Gretchen at her Super Bowl party and Marley just quietly sat in her seat the entire time as fifteen kids ran screaming past her without warning. I want to hang out with this chick when she gets older! By the way, I know Allison is going to kill me for including one of these pictures, but I couldn't resist the look on Asher's face!

Beautiful People and Savannah mag!

These are photographs from a wedding I photographed last Fourth of July. Yes, it is February, but you can blame my mom for the procrastination gene. If you don't believe me, she just submitted my sister, Claire's wedding announcement. Her wedding was June 28th of last year, so by her standards I'm ahead of the game. Props to Chrissy of ChristineHallPhotography for the beautiful photos she took at Claire's wedding. She is one of the most talented photographers I know and a great inspiration. I am so excited that we have these gorgeous pictures of the day and Claire looks normal in all of them (which is a big accomplishment in the Compton family)! Just kidding, Claire. I'm just bitter because I split the rear of my bridesmaid's dress an hour before the wedding.

Tisha and Laird were my first real wedding clients and were so relaxed that the pictures practically took themselves. Tisha and Laird met on a blind date and were engaged 6 months later. I felt so honored that they chose me and I hope I did their day justice. Thank you guys! On that note a photo of the wedding will be used in the upcoming weddings issue of Savannah magazine as an advertisement for Savannah Quarters Country Club so keep a lookout!

Night of the Living Photographer

I am very embarrassed at how long it has been since I updated my blog. I thought about it plenty of times, but I actually try to do as little on the computer as possible. After much berating by my parents I realized I am not doing myself any favors by being lazy, so I am beginning a marathon blog this week. Some photos are from Christmas shoots and some are just pictures that I love and I hope you love them too.

I had a very cool (and easy!) shoot on top of Drayton Towers with Kate (great name, by the way) and William. She's so glamorous!

Here are some more images from Christmas shoots, including my boy John. He is one of the reasons I continue to babysit after 12 years. He is one of the funniest people I know and he's not even 3 yet. He's gonna be a heartbreaker. I always take pictures of him when I'm at Meriwether's and I was so excited to have a real shoot with him. He makes it look easy.

Christmas cards!

I've only done one post and I'm already so bad about updating the blog. I shot some Christmas card pictures this year and they were so much fun, so keep me in mind for next holiday season. Laura's was the first family I photographed and they were wild. They made me work!, but the challenge made me appreciate the outcome so much more. Thank you Laura!

new site!

I'm so excited to finally have my site up and running. The design may change a little and new pictures will be added, so keep checking back. Michael did a great job designing and I know he put in some long hours, so if anyone needs a site, let me know.
